We love wine & racing, so we named Ascari Enoteca after one of our heroes, 1950's Italian racing legend, Alberto Ascari. Located in the heart of Leslieville, Ascari Enoteca is a neighborhood locale where people come to linger over a simple, delicious meal washed down by a oustanding bottle of wine (or two). You'll find homemade pastas made fresh in house every single day, plus a wine list featuring well-known varietals from across Italy and more than a few undiscovered gems.more...See more text
Ascari’s namesake is Alberto Ascari, a 1950’s Formula One Italian racing legend. Ascari doesn’t hide its passion with its racing-themed decor, but still manages to maintain a casual, cozy feel. It’s an Italian restaurant featuring homemade pastas made in-house daily, and a high-quality wine selection from around the globe. Their customers love them, as they rave about Ascari being one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. A bonus: They also offer a wide selection of Italian-inspired cocktails during cocktail hour – or any hour, really.
The service and atmosphere at this intimate Italian spot is well worth the trip out to Leslieville, but it’s their pasta, made fresh in-house every day, that had us looking up real estate listings in the area – like their effortlessly indulgent carbonara, made with cured pork cheek, peas and runny egg yolk. The spot’s carefully curated wine list is updated regularly, and on Mondays bottles are on offer at half price.
Ascari Enoteca does Italian really, really well. Their pasta is handmade daily on the premises, with dishes rotating regularly to make the most of what’s locally available.
