It was a cramped atmiosphere and the waitress kept pestering us for our order when we had literally just sat down. We ask for clarifications on the menu and manager gave us quick responses that didnt help and acted as if we should have known already. When we finally ordred i had to ask another clarification question and got snapped at again. The food came really quick, almost too quick as if it wasnt made fresh and they brought our appetizers and food all at the same time (the whole meal felt as of they were trying to rush us out for other customers even though we had a reservation). When i got my bento box it came without sushi which was one of my questions asked earlier and the manager than rudly snapped at me across the restaurant saying she was very specific with her explanation of that... which she obviously wasnt cause i didnt get it and neither did any of my friends. We sat after the meal for maybe 5 minutes until we were forced to leave cause they needed one of our tables (we were only a group of 3 so its not like we were taking up a lot of space). Everyone in my group agreed that it wasnt a pleasant atmosphere getting barked at for questions and rushed out as of they didnt care about our business. I have had decent experiences here before but i will now not be a return customer, there are plenty of other sushi restaurants in the area.
Excellent. What a wonderfully authentic hole in the wall. Though the servers struggled in communicating, they were warm and efficient. I have had a lot of great Japanese, and this is right up there. The food was so fresh and evidently high quality. The prices are reasonable as well. Will come back and recommend
serving a bunch of strange Korean Japanese Chinese. Strange not noodles just strange things to their own people (makybe Vietnamese and filipines) sorry cannot be sure or exact
We live nearby and go for lunch/dinner. Unlike the foodcourt style restaurants, you will inevitably pay a little more, but you get what you pay for. The place is very small, so expect to wait for a table unless you have a reservation. The food is very fresh, which adds the value. I feel that Japango is one of the few places in Toronto that truly makes the roll while you wait, rather than pulling one out from the fridge that the master chef mass-produced while on the phone during his shift. CONCLUSION: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but expect to pay more than at the foodcourt, naturally.
Everytime I go there, the fish is very fresh. Likely the freshest sushi i've ever had. The portions are small for the price though. Also the place is very small, would recommend reservations. The chef's daily specials on fish is always a good pick because it's usually the freshest and best quality fish they have in. The place is small so they don't have many waitresses, this causes them to have slow service.
