Coquetterie Canine Et Féline

“I have always loved animals. Doing what I do for a living, it's a way for me to contribute a little bit to their well-being, to give them back the love they gave me when I was a child,” says Nathalie Nadeau, groomer and owner of Coquetterie Canine et Féline, a grooming salon in La Petite-Patrie. Open since 1999, the salon now mainly grooms cats and dogs, but can easily help out the owners of ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furry rodents.

“It took me a long time, professionally speaking, to find myself," Nathalie says. "Originally, I wanted to be a veterinarian. But as I had a toddler and the training was only offered outside of Montreal, I gave up the idea." One day, Nathalie learned about grooming, which was the trigger that led her to take up the trade. She developed her skills at one of the first salons in Montreal before moving to a different location for a few years in the Plateau Mont-Royal. Then Nathalie's employer opened another salon in La Petite-Patrie and ended up selling it. "I bought it," she says, "and I've been here ever since."
