I live nearby and therefore I have been there many times. The food is above average, but not great. It's miles better than the cardboard served at the sushi place on the other side of the street - avoid that place. I also go into Vancouver often and eat sushi there. Unfortunately this place can't compare to many places downtown on Denman, Robson, and Davie streets. The menu is kinda boring but most of all it's too pricey for what you get. There is no way that this place should charge substantially more than a sushi place on Robson or Denman street in Vancouver when the rent in Vancouver would be much much higher. I will continue to go there because it's the best place near where I live but they could be more adventureous with their menu and could lower their prices by about 15-20%.
Surrey has its share of Japanese restaurants, but this little cafe in the heart of Newton is one of the finest out there. They say once you have their sushi you will remember their name - it's true! Their tempura is the best I've ever had, and their sushi is always fresh and full of flavor. The only problem they have is location, the restaurant is too small for the volume of people and the parking in the area is terrible. Regardless of that, they are the greatest, so try them today!
