BEWARE & AVOID. Ken's has changed ownership since the good reviews. This can be confirmed with service centre at Top Hat (trusted local company), who used to recommend them, but now specifically mentions to avoid.
We made our order, included CC info. We got a confirmed date of delivery. It came and went. Nothing. They ghosted our calls and messages. Shortly after, our CC was compromised. Turns out the web order page is not a secure credit card sale page.
We have been using Ken for our fireplace wood for over 5 years now and each year we have gotten good quality, dry, mixed woods batches. Always delivered on time and with a friendly chat. Will be ordering this years wood shortly. It is good value.
Ken is a really nice guy, but more importantly his wood is excellent. I purchased a few bags last night and could not ask for better wood. The wood lights perfectly, is completely dry and aged long enough to be ideal for burning. Not sure what linnie66 below is talking about. Ken sells hardwood, not soft firewood and you need basic fire-building skills and kindling to get it started. Hardwood is ideal because the firewood lasts long and the fire gets nice and hot.
The wood was absolutely awful and I am back to using it as what I had has been used up and what a friend gave me has been used up, much to my sorrow. It is still as awful as the day I purchased it! It is so tedious to get it to burn. I am so disappointed as he seemed to be such a decent person and I trusted that the wood would be as they said. I believed the one review. I suppose it was written by a friend.
