Hidden Gem

been to guelph manny times and never heard of this place. The service was great. our server seemed experienced. She was attentive and pleasant. This place reminded me of a real pub in europe! The mixture of curry and pub fare was SPOT ON! The main dishes were wonderfull. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Penny Whistle and we would recommend this place to anyone who loves good food and pubs

SO GREAT HERE JANICE WRIGHT IS SOOO WRONG!

definetly, definetly, definetly DONT listen (or read) any thing she has to say about the pennywhistle, the food is great (with 2 different menus; indian and pub food, and a huge tap selection). and as for the service, incredible! my friend jacob and I feel right at home with the staff at this fine establishment. oh and p.s janice, the tap selection is posted pretty much everywhere in the restaurant on every table and literally every wall. we recommend the penny whistle to anyone who wants great food, great service, and the coziest atmosphere in guelph ON.

This place has clearly gone down hill since we...

This place has clearly gone down hill since we were here last summer. Fish and Chips were not good. Hot Beef was worse. I can't tell you how disappointing it is to get attitude when you ask what is on tap. Either make a prominent sign for each table as places like other restaurants do, or get ready to tell customers. "It is on the menu" in a tone that is not pleasant is not acceptable. We won't be back.

My boyfriend and I have made this our regular joint to relax, drink Guiness and share their yummy vegi samosas and salad (our fave meal and resonably priced too!) The staff are friendly and attentive. Just love this pub :)

As far as Pubs go in the downtown Guelph area...

As far as Pubs go in the downtown Guelph area, this one is my personal favourite. Such a relaxing and comforting atmosphere with outstanding service and friendliness displayed by waitresses and bar tenders. When in thirst I head straight to the Whiss baby. Big Time.
