There’s a moment in life when one may feel like they’ve reached a plateau in their professional development, when they feel like their career isn’t fulfilling their aspirations or when they simply feel stuck. But the fears of the unknown, of trying new things and of financial insecurity often keep professionals from exploring new horizons. Unless they’ve met with Catherine Thorburn, that is.
"Nine times out of ten, it’s their own fears that keep my clients from achieving what they really want out of their careers," says Catherine, who coaches executives in their professional lives. "There’s a study that was done in the United States that confirmed that professional coaches are the number one perk amongst executives and vice-presidents in the corporate world. It’s now very important, because they recognize that it’s much easier working with someone towards improving themselves than to do it alone."
Catherine meets her clients on a bi-weekly basis for an hour-long session, which is followed by an email summarizing the work that’s been done so far and indicating the areas on which her clients need to work for the next session. "I also offer phone and email support, which isn’t something a lot of coaches do," Catherine adds.
