Joining the throngs of cool hybrid stores that have been popping up across Toronto is Cabin Fever, a spot that focuses on limited edition independent vinyl and local art with cappuccino and sandwiches on offer in the cafe.
Cabin Fever was opened by husband and wife team Robyn and Alex Harrison on the day the world was supposed to end: December 21, 2012. But there's no end in sight for this café which has a strong customer service orientation. "Our customers have been great in letting us know what they want to see in the store, and we are usually more than happy to oblige," says Robyn.
The couple have lived in High Park since 2009 and love this part of the city. “When we decided to open a shop, it was only natural that we would do it in our neighbourhood," says Robyn. “We try to support as many local artists, musicians, suppliers and trades people as possible."
