Steve Combes can usually be found sporting a red t-shirt advertising his craft-brewing business: Liberty Village Brewing Company. Steve founded the small business in 2012 along with his three partners: Kosta Viglatzis, Casandra Campbell and brewmaster Eric Emery. Today, you’ll find Liberty Village Brewing Company beer on tap at more than 20 bars across Toronto and the number continues to grow. A side project for these hardworking entrepreneurs, the growth of the business is contingent on the amount of time all four can dedicate to the venture.
The idea for Liberty Village Brewing Company first started brewing when Steve and Casandra shifted the topic of their bi-weekly career conversations. “One week, I said, ‘Let’s not talk about web marketing today, let’s talk about beer instead,’” Steve explains. “That became a common theme until we decided to start a brewing business.”
