Even though Villeray Street has been invaded by good restaurants, there still remain some fashion strongholds. Cokluch is one of them. A studio-boutique, the shop offers clothes made entirely in Montreal and is often involved in community activities.
It all began with recycled leather, when Christine Guérin and Laurie Lemieux started making bags and belts for themselves and their friends. Seeing the popularity of their creations, they decide to start up Cokluch.
Cokluch boasts a well-established storefront in Villeray where they stock clothing, accessories and ready-to-wear clothing for women and, more recently, for children. They carry the current collection as well as the new collection of children's clothing, known as Cokluch Mini. When they opened in 2007, Cokluch specialized in making clothing and accessories made of recycled leather; today, Cokluch offers a wide range of clothing.
Founded in 2007 by Christine Guérin and Laurie Lemieux, the workshop-boutique Cokluch, located on Faillon Street in the Villeray district, offers a wide selection of clothing for "young, urban and dynamic" women. Add to this jewellery and accessories and a visit to the premises is well worth the trip.
