Manon Verret has always worked in the fashion industry, and she’s always felt that there is something undeniably unique about Diabolik. She started working there as a seamstress in 2002, and when the former owner put the store up for sale in 2010, Manon jumped at the chance to buy 50 per cent of the business. Over the years she increased her share more and more until, finally, in 2014, she became the full owner.
“It's fun to be one of a kind and not to be part of a big trend because it feels more private, more like a family,” says Manon. “It's more creative. I worked for other stores when I started and it was so corporate. There wasn't much creativity. This style allows you to do anything you like.”
