A fresh French-inspired pastry can make all the difference between an ordinary morning and an extraordinary one. Just ask any of the residents of Monkland Village, who make it a point of popping by La Pâtisserie de Nancy every morning. The business has been serving them since 1965 and is one of the founding establishments of the popular upscale strip.

“This place is all about traditional French pastry,” proclaims Marie-Josée Bernard. “Our pastries are delicious and wildly popular with our customers, who will grab one or two every morning while going to work. Plain, chocolate, almond croissants: we prepare the classics every night, so they are as fresh as possible when the morning rush rolls around. That’s what our customers appreciate the most.”

And while La Pâtisserie de Nancy justifies a quick pit stop on the way into work, it is also a destination for delicious homemade cakes, fresh-baked breads and surprising macaroons, not to mention its house sorbets and ice creams, fine chocolates and cakes. Seasonal products round out the impressive offering. “We like to let the seasons inspire us," muses Marie-Josée.
