The idea of leaving your country and family to settle in a completely unknown city where you don't know anyone is a scary scenario for many people. But not for Nacéra Benchegra. Nacéra left her native France in 2001 to try her luck in Quebec, settling in the borough of Verdun in Montreal.
In the first few years, she got to know her adopted city by working in catering and taking note of the many details that would later come in handy as an entrepreneur. In fact, as a hands-on person with a strong creative spirit, Nacéra dreamed of one day opening her own flower shop. And so it was that in 2014, Pétale Sucré was born, taking on its final form the following year as a coffee shop.
Since then, the same beautiful flower arrangements are still on offer, but now, there are also imported delicacies for foodies and a restaurant area where customers can enjoy a snack and a good cup of coffee.
