Stephanie Wu

Stephanie Wu

Dr. Stephanie Wu graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2013. In 2017, she graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, and was awarded membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Her clinical externships included Perkins School for the Blind, Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, Bedford Veterans Affairs Hospital, South Boston Community Health Center, and a private clinic in Sarnia, Ontario. Dr. Wu has also travelled with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) to provide eye care and glasses to underserved communities in Dominican Republic. It was during her years in school where she developed an interest in ocular disease. Dr. Wu had the privilege of working with eyeDOCS previously as front end staff while in school. She is very excited to return to the eyeDOCS family and help Ottawa community with their eye care needs. In her spare time, Dr. Wu enjoys playing the piano, knitting, hiking, and travelling with family. Dr Wu's specialized interests include diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, and simple and specialty contact lens fittings. Her community involvements include; Member of Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), Member of Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) and travelled with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) to provide eye care and glasses to under-served communities in the Dominican Republic.

Melissa Ings

Melissa Ings

Dr. Melissa Ings was born in Ottawa but grew up outside Saint John, New Brunswick. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science with honours in biology from the University of New Brunswick in 2003, before moving to Waterloo to complete her optometry degree at the University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Ings graduated from the program in 2008. After graduating, she moved to Ottawa and worked at another optometry practice in the city for 5 years before joining eyeDOCS in 2013. In 2019, Dr. Ings became a partner for eyeDOCS Kanata. She can be found practicing at this clinic, located in Kanata North just off March Road. Dr. Ings loves living and working in North Kanata and seeing familiar faces from the community every day. In her spare time, she likes reading, gardening, cooking, and most of all, spending as much time as she can with her 2 young children. Dr. Ings has multiple specialized interests; Pediatric optometry —Dr. Ings loves to create a fun atmosphere for children to feel comfortable in and so she can address their specific needs, Geriatric optometry - identifying and managing the eye diseases that become more prevalent as we age, and Dry eye management—Dr. Ings is skilled in going beyond the basics of artificial tear therapy to address the issues surrounding chronic dry eyes. Her community involvement includes; Member of the Ottawa Society of Optometrists (OSO), Member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and Member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO).

Saarah Bokhari

Saarah Bokhari

Dr. Saarah Bokhari was born and raised in Ottawa and graduated from the University of Ottawa in Biomedical Sciences (cum laude) in 2018. She then moved to Boston, Massachusetts to complete her optometry degree at New England College of Optometry in 2022. She was a member of Lions Club International while in school and would help with vision screenings and collaborating with Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Her clinical experience includes numerous health centers, Brockton Veterans Affairs Hospital and the Vision Institute of Canada in Toronto. Throughout her time in school she developed an interest in binocular vision and vision therapy and completed a specialized elective course in binocular vision. Dr. Bokhari is excited to return back to her hometown and join the eyeDOCS family to help serve the community. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, baking, board games and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Bokhari's special interests include binocular Vision and pediatrics. Her community Involvement includes; Member of Ontario Association of Optometrists, Member of Canadian Association of Optometrists and Lions Club Internation, New England College of Optometry Chapter.
