Kupfert & Kim has a delicious menu filled with lots of options! While there are now multiple locations across the city, Kupfert & Kim started as a small take-out only spot in the First Canadian Place, which is still popular among PATH lunchers. The breakfast and lunch menus are filled with nutritious plant-based meals like the K&K Waffle, which sees a house-made waffle topped with organic blueberries, hemp seeds and coconut-cashew cream.
Get some of the best vegan food in the city on the go at Planta Burger. Planta has made a name for themselves by creating an entirely plant-based menu that has vegans and meat-eaters alike coming back for more. The restaurant, located in the downtown core, showcases plant-based burgers. A popular menu item is The California which has a vegan patty topped with avocado, lettuce garlic aioli, and tomato. There are also delicious milkshakes on the menu that come in strawberry, salted-caramel and vanilla.
The Grow Op offers vegetarians a quick meal for an amazing price. The vegetarian menu includes a Rueben Sandwich with house marinated chickpea temph, Reuben spread, topped with avocado, spinach, white wine sauerkraut, shredded carrot and cucumber on vegan focaccia bread. You can also grab an Acai Bowl that comes in the classic flavour or peanut butter – made with organic peanut butter and coconut whip. There’s also a selection of vegetarian desserts and smoothies.
Quick-service is important to this vegan breakfast and lunch spot. While this spot offers a quick meal, that doesn’t mean it cuts corners when it comes to taste and nutrition. The salads and bowls are quite popular in the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood. Try the Glorious Morning Bar made with quinoa, wheat-free oats, flax, pumpkin seeds, maple syrup, cinnamon, coconut oil and flakes, orange juice and more!
Bobbie & Sue’s Mac + Cheese is one of the top spots for take-out in the city. Vegetarians and vegans get to join in the fun with the Green Trees Mac with broccoli and chili, and Vegan Mac made with NONA Vegan cheese sauce! There might be a little bit of a wait in line, but trust us when we say it’s worth it.
Urban Herbivore is a vegan take-out spot in Kensington Market. The menu is packed with delicious vegan items like the Coati GF bowl made with spinach, arugula, carrots, marinated tomato, cabbage slaw, “cheeze sauce,” black beans, super grains, corn, onions and herb dressing.
Bolt Fresh Bar may be known for its cold pressed juices and smoothies, but the salad menu is becoming a must-have among regulars. Choose from three types: Hermosa with spinach, carrots, cucumber, marinated tofu, avocado and lime jalapeno dressing, Kale Caesar and Antioxidant with spinach, shredded bet, carrots, squash, red cabbage, cauliflower and more. You can also create your own with your choice of greens, five toppings and dressing.
While the entire menu isn’t vegetarian, there are many great options that are plant based. The boxes are quick to grab for lunch and come in multiple flavour combinations. Try the 5-Star box that is a mix of avocado, sweet potato, broccoli, Napa cabbage, organic quinoa and more. iQ Food Co. also serves up some vegan desserts and smoothies!
