Blue Plate Diner

The restaurant is licensed, so you and your gal pals can enjoy a glass of wine or latte while the wee ones sip on Pinocchio ice cream Orangina floats. Or, make it a lunch date and treat your little ones to something from the kids’ menu, which includes burgers (beef or veggie), grilled cheese and the restaurant’s famous mac and cheese. For brunch, kids can choose between pancakes or a smaller version of the Blue Plate Diner breakfast.
Inflatable Fun Inc

Kids will go crazy for the big play area, which includes a playhouse, toys, inflatables and a games area. At Café Rosette, they serve premium drip coffee, espresso, Americanos, cappuccinos and lattes, plus Chai tea lattes. Their homemade iced tea and lemonade is top-notch, and they also offer organic apple juice, juice boxes and hot chocolate for the kids.
Tiramisu Bistro

The owner, who has three children, wanted to create a spot where parents could visit and enjoy a coffee while watching their kids play together. The Italian menu is chock-full of amazing gourmet dishes, including pizza, pasta, Panini and seafood. They offer a separate kids' menu, with items like crêpes, bacon mac and cheese and a variety of kids' pizzas.
Cafe O'Play
5667 Riverbend Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 5K4There is an indoor playground for children ages 0 to 6, as well as Nintendo DS systems to sign out for free for older children. There is a fee for the playground, which includes a custom train table, princess palace, lighthouse slide, bouncy chairs and more. Adults can enjoy a cup of coffee made from locally-roasted Caps Coffee beans. They also make Panini, soups and platters for kids or adults, in addition to offering popular kids’ snacks, such as Annie’s cheddar bunnies, and organic jarred baby food. Bring socks for the play area, or you can purchase a pair.
Milcreek Cafe

There’s an outdoor seating area that is perfect for kids to stretch their legs while their parents chat nearby. They make their own bread in-house, and serve tons of sweets and homemade pastries.
Cafe Haven
9 Sioux Rd, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 4C7Located in Sherwood Park, this gorgeous, airy café has tons of open space. Their casual, laid-back vibe is perfect for brunch with the family, or a coffee with your girlfriends and your little ones. They often have live music shows at night, and many of their shows are all-ages. It is a licensed establishment, but people don’t go here to overindulge, so the atmosphere remains child-friendly, especially during the day. The coffee is to die for, and they also serve smoothies, Boylan cane sugar pop and fresh-squeezed orange juice.
