Worst ever, just a wrap of rice, no flavour, no meat, no sauce, real bad.
great food. great service!
If you like authentic Indian food, this is NOT the place for you. The food was the worst rendition of Indian cuisine I have ever experienced. And I am of Indian origin! I even like Mexican food... so I expected this to be a delightful blend of both cuisines. I was visiting Kingston on our way to Gananoque, over this long weekend. After reading the positive reviews here, I decided I had to try this place. We ordered 4 dishes "Beef Dhansak", "Chicken Curry", "Chicken Masala" and "Lamb Vindaloo". The overwhelming taste of tumeric dominated all four of the dishes we ordered. The Dhansak was way too sweet... like a bag of sugar accidentally leaked in. The Chicken Masala was extremely salty and the Chicken Curry was flavourless. The Lamb Vindaloo was bearable because the spice destroyed the taste of any other ingredient that might have been in there. We ate about a quarter of our meal and threw the rest out. What a waste of $40. We then had to find another place for dinner since we were still hungry!
Very small dingy, doesnt look clean not very tasty at all dont waste your money! there are alot better choices in town for good food!
I ordered a masala and chicken wrap for last minute dinner idea, the wraps were huge to start off with, costing around 6$ each, definitely worth the price. My girlfriend couldn't finish her wrap, so I had to finish it for her heh. I would eat there again and recommend if your craving burritos or wraps.
The best in Ktown. Great location, awesome price, the No Frills of Indian/Mexican food with the quality of a place that would charge twice as much. The shrimp masala wrap is hands down the tastiest thing for the money.
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Made perfectly as ordered. I had the midnight special. I was pleased beyond words. I am from Montreal and this place compares to a big city in central downtown but is half the price and almost certainly tastier. The owner is super duper nice and the food was fast and delicious. I will certainly be a regular an would recommend El Asador to just about everyone.
Don't be fooled by the look of this place. The food is very good and cooked to order. Very fresh and tasty!! Soups and burritos are great!
owner is nice, food is decent....it's a good place to go for a quick bite. the owner used to work for an indian restaurant...so there is a bit of a fusion taste in the wraps.
I love small places that stay true to the food. This is definitely one of them. Although a couple of people ca sit and eat there, I have only done take out so far. Jose, the proprietor/chef is a nice guy and the wraps, all I have tried so far, are well prepared with balanced flavours and fresh ingredients. My partner loves the Madras, as do I. I also liked the Midnight special. The Bhuna was a bit too mild for me. I want to try the Vindaloo and the Dhansak next followed by the rest.
After reading the reviews here I had to check it out. Amazing dansak wrap! I love curry but could never find a good deal anywhere in Kingston on my budget. Now I can get my fix at a quarter the price! The place looks like an absolute dive which is why, I never went in before. Works to my benifit though, keeps other people away so the service is fast. Was so impressed I went back for the Midnight special which was also very good. Will be back many times.

It's takeout only, but it's right beside ALE, and open until 3 on thursday, friday and saturday. Quite possibly the greatest Mexican food north of the Rio Grande. Anything on the menu is stellar.
The food is excellent, the owner Jose is extremely friendly, and the prices are unbeatable. I've recommended El Asador to many friends and they all come back hooked.
Always great food! Fast, friendly service. The vindaloo tasted great and was killer hot!
I come here at least once or twice a week. The food is consistently fantastic and ridiculously cheap and Jose (the owner) is very accomodating with the ingredients. Its nothing fancy, but you'll be hooked!
I have to say, that's one of the best indian lunches I've had in a while. Had to come back twice in one week. Absolutely hooked. New favourite restaurant in town. Its not a place to come and sit down for lunch, but take out is just excellent. Dying to try the mexican side of the menu
I eat at el asador 3-4 times per week. nothing beats it.
The friendly owner apologized for my having to wait five minutes for my order. I would have waited much longer for a meal so good. I brought it home to Syracuse, reheated it and it was still much better than anything you can get around here......or there, in my limited Kingston experience. I shall return!
Wicked food, really nice guy, quick service, really filling!! Well done Jose!
