L'Espace Contemporain

When Janet Blais decided to open L’Espace contemporain in Montreal, her first priority was to find a location. Although she didn't quite know where that location would be, she knew two things: she didn't want to share a neighbourhood with other art galleries and she wanted contemporary art to exist in a community setting, available to people every day.

As a result, L’Espace contemporain, at the corner of Papineau and Laurier, has been showcasing the artwork of local artists since 2010.
