George's Food Bar

Been going there since the 70s. Great food...even though they spell Burgher wrong.

I have been across this country and parts of the United States and have never found a burger or sweet and sour boneless pork better than George's.

You are not going to come here for the atmosphere...

You are not going to come here for the atmosphere but, If you're into GOOD FOOD, and I mean the best tasting burger ever (sloppy is good) then this is the place. If you like candian-chinese food it is one of the best also (Get the "half and half" which is the local expression of the chicken chow mein & boneless sweet & sour) then you're in for a treat too. As far as the service is concerned George is getting old but he rarely forgets a face or an order. Just yell inside your order and he'll poke his head out and point to you when it's ready! His English is limited as is his wife's - but that's part of the atmosphere. You can go across the road to Louis Park to eat, or just sit in your car, nevertheless, his loyal fans are many, and if you want a taste of the local secret food in Courenay / Comox this is a touchstone!

Good burgers, good Cdn/chinese food...but just a kind of unfriendliness there with mom/dad/son. No one smiles, they say NOTHING when you order. They put the food out, look for you outside once through the window, you pay, it's over. Other than state the price after ordering, NOTHING is said. Basic...but worth it for the food alone.

Great food, good prices. Service is a little different and annoying if you have never dealt with them before. But they make good food and its worth it to go there and have a burger or some chinese food.
