Sharing the common language of good food is what binds us all together - within families, between friends and across communities. At Terra Breads, sharing and connecting with our customers is what motivates us to work every day to create and re-create fresh, slow-rise artisan breads, delectable rustic pastries and delicious small meals. Vancouver’s much-beloved bakeshop has four outposts across the city, so there’s bound to be a location near you to help satisfy your hot cross bun cravings. Dripping in warm lemon-maple icing, Terra Breads’ signature hot cross buns are created by head baker Mary MacKay, who spices up her own grandmother’s recipe with the addition of organic raisins, apricots, currants, sweetened dried fruit and a medley of fragrant spices.
Freshly baked bread has to be one of the best smells in the world and Terra Breads is my favourite place to grab a loaf of warm pain de campagne. They make this French sourdough-style bread in the traditional way and their focus on old-fashioned slow-rise artisan methods really makes a difference to the taste. You can tell they put a lot of love into what they are doing at the bakery.
Terrabreads is a good spot to go with picky eaters because there’s truly something for everyone. It’s a great place to grab some bread if you’re putting together a picnic, or just to pop in and have a snack. My kids love their cheese sticks and the house-made lemonade, which is refreshing and not too sweet. There are four locations around the city and they also have free Wi-Fi.
