Lovely atmosphere, good service. Good portion sizes, very fresh tastes. A little pricey but well worth it. On par with Mount Fuji (adelaide st).

I have eaten at Ichiban before, and the experience had been stellar - until I visited on All You Can Eat Sundays. I would recommend this restaurant from Monday through Saturday, but will never go on a Sunday again. The service was extremely slow, due to the volume of orders, and when the sushi did arrive, the quality and quantity of fish was much below standard. They increased the amount of rice for every piece of sushi to try to fill you up. Comparing my plate with the other patrons in the restaurant who ordered a la carte, it was clear that the fish used for the buffet was an inferior variety. I highly DO NOT recommend the buffet. They only allow 3 to 4 items per person when ordering the buffet, and you only get 2 additional return trips - not all you can eat as far as I am concerned. The small sushi boat of 24 pieces is the same price as the buffet, and your money goes further. They also include a penalty charge for any uneaten food.

Even the sweetness of green tea was not enough to take the bitter taste of this dining experience out of my mouth! My fiancée and I just returned from dinner and it was so unpleasant I had to write this review to give others fair warning. The food at Ichiban is more expensive than most sushi restaurants but it is normally high quality and carefully prepared. Tonight, however, the service was atrocious taking over 2 ½ hours and the food was sub-par with two of our orders served incorrectly – the unagi and albacore tuna were missing from our platter without explanation or compensation. We were not the only patrons unsatisfied as several people walk out before they were served as no one came to their table for over 20 minutes. If you decide to try Ichiban I hope you have a better experience than we did and if you know another excellent Sushi Restaurant in London, Ontario then please share your review!

By far the worst dining experience ever! The service was extremely slow. We had to call the waitress over just to get our drink order and a menu. The tempura was cold. They forgot to pick up the dishes off of our table. We were limited to the number of sushi that we could order at a time. What we ordered was not even enough food for 3 adults. It then took them 40 minutes to come by for our second order of sushi which took another 30 minutes for us to get. The sushi was tiny. I wouldn't recommended it to anyone.

I visited Ichiban, London, today for lunch. The service was very poor. It took more than 15 minutes for someone to take the order and then it took more than 30 minutes to process the order. The Terrayki was served first and 15 minutes later the sushimi/sushi arrived. The fish was not good, it looked stale. Overall the lunch service today, was very, very poor.
