Come taste a delicious meal at Northern Belle. Come unwind at the bar with a cocktail. They are easily reachable by bicycle and public transit. The neighboring location is remarkable for its restaurants, coffee shops and merchants.
In March of 2015, Trinity Bellwoods gained the aptly named café-bar Northern Belle, which sits on the southeast corner of Dundas St. West and Bellwoods Ave. There, amongst the eclectic neighbourhood of spray painted murals, derelict Laundromats and Portuguese churches, is this french-inspired, vintage gem.
Northern Belle, offering pour-over coffee, an impressive selection of local and imported craft beer and delectable yet unpretentious seasonal cocktails, is an accessible alternative to the many esoteric hipster hot spots that line the sometimes too-cool-for-school Dundas West strip.
Northern Belle is like a frontier saloon whose edges have been smoothed, its temper settled. The café neighbouring Trinity Bellwoods keeps things simple, offering pour over, cold brew, and a selection of teas. Eats are also restrained, but excellent whether for a snack (chicken liver and peppercorn pate) or a sandwich (5-spice pork). But like any good saloon, Northern Belle has an extensive beer menu featuring wits, wheats, IPAs, stouts, ales, lagers, and more. They also serve wine by glass, half-litre, or bottle. And their cocktails are constructed with house-made tinctures and syrups.
