The Cinémathèque québécoise is internationally recognized for its expertise in preserving and providing access to the audiovisual heritage from here and around the world.
Faithful to the memory of film, the Cinémathèque québécoise was created by a group of film enthusiasts in 1963. Although its mission has evolved over the years, today the institution is dedicated to the promotion of film culture, creating national and international film archives as well as film screenings for non-commercial, educational and artistic purposes. Its schedule incorporates short and feature films from a collection of over 40,000 works.
If you appreciate the seventh art, extend your gratitude to this institution located on boulevard Maisonneuve Est (near Berri-UQAM metro station). Now a little more than half a century old, this museum aims to promote our film culture by acquiring, presenting and preserving films, as well as offering retrospectives and exceptional exhibitions.
